Realty company hosts first responder appreciation breakfast

AUGUSTA (WFXG) – A realty company in Augusta, Summer House, did something special for the community for the first time Tuesday morning.

If you drive down Washington road, you probably have passed by Summer House Realty at 2735 Washington Rd. However, Tuesday morning, first responders were invited to take a step inside for breakfast. It was their first community outreach event.

The realty company opened back in November 2020 with the intent to share the space, but of course, COVID-19 complicated things a bit. Now, they are looking to find more ways to get involved with the community.

FOX 54 asked marketing director Hannah Watson what made them want to hold this event first.

“Our first responders are so crucial, especially during this pandemic. We know that they have been working so hard and even putting themselves at a greater risk than usual, and several of our real estate agents here are actually former first responders, so it really hits close to home with us,” said Watson.

One of Summer House’s realtors, Todd Lamb, says he knows just how hard the job can be.

“Not many people really realize what it takes and what all is involved in that line of work. The stuff you see, the stuff you hear…They’re just under appreciated. So, it’s just nice to give a little something back.”

Two other local companies also helped make the breakfast possible: Stone Roastery and Sheila’s Baking Company.

The breakfast was scheduled from 8 A.M. to 10:30 A.M.

If you were unable to come this time, Watson tells FOX 54 that they plan to do more things like this in the future.
